The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) was established by UN Security Council Resolution 1757 to hold trials for the people accused of carrying out the attack of 14 February 2005 which killed 23, including the former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Hariri, and injured many others.
The STL opened on 1 March 2009 in Leidschendam, near The Hague, the Netherlands. It is an independent, judicial organization not a UN court.

Le Tribunal spécial pour le Liban (TSL) à été établi par la Resolution 1757 du Conseil de sécurité de l'ONU pour juger les personnes accusées d'avoir perpétré l'attentat du 14 février 2005 qui a tué 23 personnes, dont l'ancien Premier ministre libanais Rafic Hariri et blessé de nombreuses autres personnes.
Le Tribunal a ouvert ses portes le 1er mars 2009 à Leidschendam, près de la Haye, aux Pays-Bas. C’est une organisation judiciaire indépendante et non un Tribunal de l’ONU.

المحكمة الخاصة بلبنان محكمة ذات طابع دولي. ويقع مقرها الرئيسي في إحدى ضواحي لاهاي بهولندا، ولها أيضاً مكتب في بيروت، لبنان.
أما الولاية الرئيسية للمحكمة الخاصة بلبنان فهي محاكمة الأشخاص المتهمين بتنفيذ اعتداء 14 شباط/فبراير 2005 الذي أدى إلى مقتل 23 شخصاً، بمن فيهم رئيس الوزراء اللبناني الأسبق رفيق الحريري، والى جرح اشخاص كثيرين آخرين.
وقد أنشئت المحكمة بناء على طلب قدمته الحكومة اللبنانية إلى الأمم المتحدة. وأما الاتفاق الذي توصل اليه لبنان والأمم المتحدة فلم يُصادَق عليه، وقامت الأمم المتحدة بجعل أحكامه نافذة من خلال قرار مجلس الأمن الدولي رقم 1757.
